Rubinstein group at the Institute for Chemical Reaction Design and Discovery (ICReDD), Hokkaido University seeks outstanding candidates for an appointment as postdoctoral researchers in polymer simulations. The successful candidates will perform large-scale simulations to study the mechanical properties of polymeric networks, including the failure of single-network and double-network polymer gels. The candidates are expected to have strong interpersonal skills to promote interactions between the theoretical Rubinstein group and experimental Prof. Gong’s group. They should be willing to travel, as they are expected to spend sometime at the Rubinstein group at Duke University in North Carolina, USA. We are looking for individuals who have the experience and demonstrated skills in molecular dynamics simulations of polymer systems by using coarse grained models, mainly Kremer-Grest model. The experience in Monte Carlo simulations is useful although it is secondary importance. The applicants are expected to have Ph.D in physics or related fields at the time of the appointment. The salary will be determined following the regulation of Hokkaido University. The initial appointment is for one year and the renewal may be offered upon successful progress until March 31st, 2023. The interested applicant should submit the following items to the following address:
